A letters sculpture in the entrance to Ofakim city
April 2017
First place in the competition for the selection of an artist at the entrance to Ofakim.
A cardboard box, an empty box in the living room, I sit inside it, closing, opening, peering and announcing (mostly to myself) “This is my place.” A childhood memory that I tried to grasp when I was working on the competition – a sculpture of letters / entrance to Ofakim – a city of people.
The letter grew, caught volume in the urban space and became a contour, the “Container” containing the resident. Sculpture / sign / space games / meeting place.
